URepair - 3rd Party Repairs Management

ULDs are Unitpool’s bread and butter.  To serve our pooling customers we must maintain our fleet of ULDs in prime airworthy condition, with the least possible disruption at the best possible prices. 

In order to achieve that we have created a global network of certified, efficient and professional ULD repair partners and we’ve used our constantly growing volumes to command the best possible conditions.

As we further grow we constantly leverage our size and experience, through our three-pronged Continuous Improvement Programme, orchestrated by our GM Repairs and Procurement.  This focuses upon fine tuning the network, auditing, quality and purchasing.

Unitpool’s URepair product offers airlines the opportunity to benefit from all or part of the network we’ve built in order to reduce their ULD repair cost.  Here are the key benefits:

  • Optimisation – Why bring all of the ULDs back to the hub?  We steer damaged ULDs to the stations that repair at the lowest cost, due to factors such as labour or currency.  These decisions are made with due consideration of the opportunity costs of carrying empty ULDs.  Many network carriers still carry all damaged ULDs back to the hub for repair, which not only wastes fuel but often blocks a valuable paying position.

  • Economies of Scale – We bundle our volumes together, including parts and nets, and share the benefits of reduced prices, and enhanced supplier attention.  This leads to lower repair costs and faster turnaround times.

  • Single Supplier – Entrusting Unitpool to manage the full process reduces management attention throughout.  You receive only one invoice per month; a set of mutually agreed performance reports and focused, solution-oriented meetings.
