Global Operations Center

Our Global Operations Team, based in Bangkok, is our network control center.  Our team works 24/7 to secure a smooth operation for our airline customers.  From there, they manage the ULD supply of 23 pooling customers at more than 300 stations around the world.

Reporting to the Operations Manager. are the following three groups:

  • system control
  • zone coordination
  • freighter operations

The key functions performed by these three groups include:

  • System Control:  Our system controllers are responsible to ensure that all UCM and SCM messages are duly received and run through the system.  They verify any message that goes into the error queue, and either correct them or they follow-up with the stations to receive the appropriate informaiton.  They are also responsible to "chase" any missing UCM that have not been addressed by the ground handlers, following the two system-generated reminders.
  • Zone Coordinators:  A group of Zone Coordinators are responsible for balancing the stock within defined sectors.  They raise disposition messages to the airlines to ensure that the correct number of units is being positioned where they are needed.  By handling dispositions by zone, we always look for the shortest possible distance to reposition, as opposed to always repositioning for an airline's hub (a common practice of airlines that manage ULD stand-alone)  In order to keep the movement equitable for all, we monitor and balance the number of dispositions that an airline performs on behalf of the pool partners, vs the number that the pool partners perform on behalf of the airline.
  • Freighter Operations:  The complexities of a cargo operation, including delivery of ULD to shippers, charter operations and trucking, requires special attention.  As our freighter operator customers have grown from 2 to 5 it became a necessity to create a dedicated 24/7 team to look after the cargo operators requirements

The Airline Coordinators, are also based in Bangkok.  Our 23 airline customers are split among four Coordinators.  They oversee the overall activities of their portfolio of customers, and act as the key point of contact between the airlines, the Regional Managers, and the Operations Team.  They are, so to speak the airline's implant within the Operations Center.  They report to the Regional Managers, who also act as Account Sponsors to the airlines.

Finally, our Network Analyst, reporting directly to the Operations Director, is responsible to provide the team with important KPI reports that go to our customers every month, works on tracking ULDs that are unreported, develops analytical and statistical tools that support the day-to-day activities across the network.
