"Tracker" - ULD Management System

Unitpool’s IT solution "Tracker" is undergoing a complete overhaul to improve functionality and user-friendliness.  We launched a project to completely upgrade our ULD Tracker system.  Following a thorough review and RFP process we have signed a 7 year deal with Ultra Electronic Systems (UK), our incumbent supplier. 

Ultra will develop a brand new purpose built ULD Pooling Management system with features and functionality to our agreed specification.  The product will be exclusive to Unitpool and will use the most modern technology ensuring that we can continuously expand the system and be compatible with fast moving developments in tracking technology.

The main advantage of remaining with Ultra, in addition to the fact that they are a highly reputable global player with a track record in military and aviation related solutions, is that we can fully depend upon our existing "Tracker" system throughout the design and development phases.

Roll out of the new system is anticipated as being the last quarter of 2010.  In the meantime we have gone live with various upgrades, including the introduction of sub-stations, allowing us to know where the units are within an airport's perimeter (main station), a message builder allowing for direct input of ULD movement messages.
