It is a pleasure to welcome you to our new Unitpool website.

Much has happened in the last year.  After the acquisition of Unitpool by Aviation Services Holding at the end of 2007, who've injected capital and together with the Board, strategic expertise

• we focused on strengthening our management team, bringing in a new CFO, a Commercial Director and a General Manager Repairs and Procurement
• we placed Unitpool supervisors in key stations including Frankfurt, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, and Toronto, and supervision arrangements in many other stations
• we moved our Bangkok operation into larger premises
• we concluded a long term agreement with Ultra Electronics to upgrade our ULD Management System "Tracker"
• we extended our contract with Etihad for an additional three years
• we signed on TUI Travel carriers Thomsonfly, JetairFly and TUIFly Nordic

and we listened, to our customers, our suppliers and the many airline managers and industry experts that we met with throughout the year.

The industry is facing challenging times.  With an uncertain global economic climate causing lower demand and the steep rise in fuel prices, many airlines are facing a dire situation.   Finding ways to reduce costs and free up capital is the priority topic on every airline CFO's to do list, and the introduction of Lightweight ULDs is frequently mentioned. 

Unitpool’s unique position as the largest independent ULD Supply and Management provider in the industry presents the airlines with an opportunity to score on all three of the above. 

Outsourcing ULD management to Unitpool saves considerably in both CAPEX and Operating Costs.  As part of our full service offering we purchase, for cash, existing ULD assets and incorporate those that are worthy into our ULD Pool.  And since we are busily converting our ULD Pool to lightweight ULDs, working with Unitpool would certainly accelerate progress in this area too.
